About me

My name is Eivind, I'm in my mid-thirties, married and dad of two kids of 3 and 5. I currently work as a developer/system administrator, but dedicate most of my evenings to games; either by playing them, discussing them or writing about them.

I'm better known as flesk or fleskesvor in various online communities, like the Double Fine Action Forums where I'm a community moderator, on Steam, on GamingOnLinux and on Twitter.

I've loved video games since I was a kid, and have fond memories of games on the Commodore 64, NES, Sega Mega Drive and Amiga, as well as the last couple of generations of Nintento consoles. Lately I've become increasingly disgruntled by lock-ins and exclusives, and after having used Linux as my main desktop OS for more than a decade, it has now also become my gaming platform of choice.

About this website

This website is intended as a discovery site for people who enjoy creative indie games for Linux. I will post about games in development, games seeking crowdfunding, and sometimes short reviews or opinion pieces on the topic of Linux gaming.

In addition to this blog, we also have a Steam curator Hidden Linux Gems, and the Linux Gems collection on Itch.io. Both have been sorely neglected since their inceptions, but will hopefully benefit from the content written for this site.
